| How a Gruver Compensated Saddle
works |
|
| If you look closely at the
saddle on Gruver Acoustic guitars they are not straight in line as in
older designs. The bridge has "off-sets" that shorten some strings to get proper"intonation". Intonation means that as you play every fret on every string the acutal note is much closer or near perfect in some spots. This makes the whole guitar play in tune all the way up and down the fret board. On electric guitars you will see that there are individual compesation adjustments on all the Gruver Electrics. On the acoustic we put Compensated bridges on all of them and the intonation is set for standard thickness of strings, light gauge 11's or 12's, but Mediums will also work. Do not use heavy gauge strings on our Guitars. Martin and Gibson will void the warranty as well. Heavy gauge strings are for Resonators and heavy reinforced guitars that do not have the sound quality of a more vibrant sound box found on quality wooden guitars. . ![]() |
